Politicians love the word paradigm and use it freely, thinking it will confuse the masses and make them seem intelligent, but few know it’s real meaning, which is – ‘a framework containing the basic assumptions, ways of thinking, and methodology that are commonly accepted by members of a scientific community.‘
Ok so if we accept veganism is a framework for certain human behavior i.e. consuming foods that are plant-based then the basic assumption is that the practice of veganism is commonly accepted by members of a scientific community – those such as Colin Campbell, MD, Joel Fuhrman, MD and a host of others with the credentials and the proof they have so generously provided.
Their scientific ways of thinking have brought credibility to the vegan movement BECAUSE they refused to make basic assumptions, instead, proving their case with data that cannot be contradicted by any real scientific methods.
The reasons some people (mostly meatheads) have for disputing scientific findings have more to do with economics than truth. When livelihoods are threatened and the status quo questioned, it doesn’t matter what the truth is, the defense mechanisms are put in place to deal with the upstart vegan crowd.
